To educate and foster public debate on Palestinian human rights and self-determination within the framework of international law.
Al-Shabaka: The Palestinian Policy Network, is an independent, non-partisan, and non-profit organization. Al-Shabaka is a think tank without borders or walls that aims to: - Draw upon the vast knowledge and experience of the Palestinian people, whether under occupation, in exile, or in Israel, so as to engage the broadest spectrum of perspectives in debate on policy and strategy; and - Communicate ideas and strategies on resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict to Palestinian communities as well as to Arab and other policy communities and interested parties worldwide.
What makes Al-Shabaka innovative?
Al-Shabaka is Palestine’s only independent, transnational think tank. With a network of nearly 200 members based across six continents, we turn Israel’s violent fragmentation of the Palestinian people into a strength by bringing together Palestinian experts across the world to brainstorm and strategize about paths forward for collective liberation and self-determination.
How does Al-Shabaka measure impact?
We measure impact through the reach and influence of our policy recommendations, as well as the demonstrative re-centering Palestinian perspectives within the global policy discourse. In the interim, this includes strengthening relationships and alliances with civil society, media, and policymakers, who rely on the work and expertise of Al-Shabaka to inform their viewpoints and political positions. In the long run, we work in tandem with partner organizations to shift policies and the policy discourse in favor of Palestinian rights, holding Israel accountable under international law.
